A client-centric process for better results
We know that big remodels can be both exciting and stressful. It’s natural to have questions about remodeling your home, whether you’re fixing up an aging bathroom or completely gutting and remodeling your space. At Springs Home Improvement, we often get a wide variety of questions. We hope that these answers can help you determine if we’re the best fit for your next remodeling project.

No, we have found over the years that attempting to separate one from the other, limits our ability to perform efficiently and with excellence. Remodeling has many inherent challenges and we know are best overcome by an integrated approach to each project.
The design process may take between a few weeks or a few months to collaborate with one of our designers to make the decisions needed to provide you with a Construction Agreement. We will use the final design to create an detailed Construction Agreement for the work. A Contract is typically ready within 2 to 8 weeks.
For the Design Agreement you are invoiced at signing. For the Construction Agreement you are invoiced 40% at signing, 30% at mid-point of the build process, and the final 30% after all work has been completed and you are happy. For Change Orders typically you are invoiced upon approval.
The length of a project varies depending on the scope, but the construction phase of an average bathroom
remodel takes 1-2 months and kitchens take 2-3 months.
The short answer? It depends. Costs can vary based on the finishings and appliances you’ve selected, as well as the scope of your remodel. In addition, our design-build approach means that we charge a reasonable design fee as well.
The long answer? Kitchens may cost between 20-25% of your home’s current value. Bathrooms may be between 10 and 15%. For whole home remodels, it depends on the square footage of your home. If you want the most accurate numbers possible, please contact us.
We will begin work shortly after the contract is signed and permits are ready (if required). Our workload varies seasonally, but average start times fall between 2 and 6 weeks from the signed contract date.
Your project manager will prepare a plan for best protecting your home, involving floor protection, carpet masking, plastic walls or temporary access doors into the work zone, and HEPA air filtering systems. We ask that owners remove their personal items and furniture from the immediate work zone. Your project manager will communicate with you directly and through your client portal about when to expect workers at your home. In most cases we do not require you to be present, with your approval we will provide secure access and locking up when you are not at home.
The design process is a great time to change your mind. The process is a collaboration with your designer, and we will work with you around any needed changes to create a final design. Yes, you can change your mind during the build– however, the earlier, the better. We will provide you with a change order for approval before adjusting the scope of work and associated costs.
