At the Glen Shadows project, SHI transformed an existing Jack and Jill bathroom into a walker- and wheelchair-friendly space that supports aging in place. Doorways were widened, and traditional doors were replaced with barn doors, allowing for smoother, unrestricted access. The existing bathtub-shower combination was converted into a spacious shower featuring subtle movement in the field tile and a striking blue accent as a vertical band and in the back of a recessed niche, adding depth and sophistication. Grab bars were installed for functionality. The vanity area was reimagined to include a roll-under sink and dedicated makeup station. The brushed blue vanity is complemented by matte black fixtures, creating a bold yet serene aesthetic. The water closet was updated with grab bars and a bidet to ensure both comfort and safety. The overall design combines practical, accessible features with a modern blue palette, resulting in a soothing “blue oasis” that showcases contemporary style and thoughtful functionality.
